Today is the last day of the regular State Legislative session.  Expect a very long day -- and likely some additional special sessions to follow.

Jun4 - Jun8

A bill passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Scott in May 2011, moves up the 2012 primary date and the qualifying dates for state and federal offices. The regular primary election in 2012 will be Aug. 14, under the new law. The qualifying week during which candidates must turn in their paperwork to run for the Legislature, or Congress, will be June 4-8 of 2012.  For more details, check out the Florida Division of Elections directory of 2011 - 2012 Dates to Remember.
